The recent expansion project more than tripled the plant size and is the latest step in Mueller’s strategy to bring all of its manufacturing under their own control to ensure maximum quality and the fastest delivery schedule at the best possible price. The new plant includes an array of additional heavy fabrication equipment, as well as heat treating, hydro testing, and research facilities.
“This expansion will enable us to keep pace with the increasing demand for our current products as well as bring our next generation of innovative technology to the marketplace,” said CEO Fred Mueller. “Even in what is regarded as a depressed market, we’re continuing to experience significant growth. We are now also far better positioned for the inevitable industry rebound.” In the quarter century since Fred started the company with a wealth of talent but only $750 and an American Express card in his wallet, Mueller has developed an array of successful intake, exhaust, mist elimination, noise control, and deodorization equipment that continues to set the standard for performance and quality. Further reinforcing its reputation for innovation, in 2000 Mueller introduced the revolutionary KLS helical coil separation technology that removes solid and liquid contaminants from the natural gas stream without the maintenance and expense of old fashioned filters. As a result, that ambitious little start-up company has grown into a leading supplier of engineered equipment to the natural gas industry.
“And the best is yet to come,” says President Janice Mueller. “Our remarkable engineers and talented staff are readying new technologies and products for the marketplace. Mueller’s next quarter century promises to be just as exciting as the first.
“However, we know that our success has not been built solely on hard work and great products. None of this would have been possible without our terrific clients, and on behalf of all of us here at Mueller, we want to express our deep appreciation for their incredible support.”
An important part of our new facility is the enhanced ability to host lunch-and–learn events, including a demo studio and conference room with digital presentation equipment. We also encourage clients to come inspect their equipment during fabrication. Engineers especially enjoy touring our giant “Erector Set” and we promise to provide true Texas hospitality. If you’re based in Houston, we’ll provide transportation to and from your office; if you’re coming from out of town we’ll be glad to meet you at the airport. Either way, we certainly welcome you!
